On Wednesday December 11, 2013 KMDI Celebrated it’s annual Holiday Party and Poster Session. It was a wonderful evening bringing together faculty, students and alumni. This Fall we also celebrate our most recent KMD Collaborative Program graduates; Quest Atkinson, Brendan Behrmann, Murat Oztok, and Karen Smith. With an extra special congratulations to Karen Smith on her successful completion of her PhD in the Faculty of Information and gigantic thank you for her years of service teaching KMD courses and participating in the program and institute.
In addition to celebrating our recent grads KMDI also shared the great accomplishments of its students in our poster session. Showcasing work from students in the KMD Collaborative Program, last night’s event also marked KMDI’s first recipients of the KMDI Award for Course Based Research in Knowledge Media Design. The winners of this year inaugural award were the “How to Recycle; Citizen Engagement through Toronto’s Garbage & Recycling Datasets” project, which was part of the KMD1001 course this Fall. Congratulations to Catherine Emmens, Max Julian, Evengy Olin, and Fern Burge on their fantastic work!
