KMDI-Semaphore Speaker Series – David Gauntlett

February 14 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Abstract:

The internet was meant to take us to a bright and beautiful place. That didn’t really work out as intended. The tools that enable people to share creative work, exchange ideas and foster inspiration were amazing, but the social media environments were rather too quickly spoiled by greed and abuse. Rather than dwell too long on recriminations, David Gauntlett looks towards a better model — the culture we need next. ‘An Experimental Culture of All Kinds of Things Made by Everybody’ highlights the need for an inclusive, curious and collective culture, offline and online and both.
