Qualifications:
– Experience with coordinating and scheduling events, workshops and meetings
– Excellent organizational and time management skills
– Intermediate Skills on MS Outlook, WordPress, Mailchimp, Hootesuite and Social Media
– Social Media experience, Facebook, Twitter and Analytics
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Good problem-solving skills; detail-oriented
– Self-motivated; takes initiative; pro-active
– Committed, reliable, ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Desired Skills
– Adobe Creative Suite, (Illustrator and InDesign) and Canva
– Copywriting skills for websites and articles
– Experience taking pictures for digital and print promotional material
– Familiarity with digital media games and maker technologies or willingness to learn
– Familiarity with alternative events (pop-up and hackathons) or willingness to learn
– Knowledge of technical equipment (such as ipads, videocameras, etc.)
Responsibilities:
– Coordinating events, workshops and meetings for Director of Institute
– Scheduling dates, booking rooms, ordering catering and corresponding meeting logistics
– Drafting emails, correspondence for Director and Administrative Coordinator
– Promoting events through website, social media, and print material
– Posting Institute’s social media, looking at trends and analytics
– Posting articles/events on e-newsletter (mailchimp), website and social media
– Assisting Administrative Coordinator and Director with events, which may include attending during the occasional evening or weekend, setting up space, signage and other logistics
– Assisting with writing articles about events for e-newsletter and taking pictures
– Updating tool/technical lending library (videocameras, ipads.. )
Preference will be given current Faculty of Information Students. Qualified applicants must be available to work at University of Toronto St. George campus. The successful applicant will be offered a contract of 200 hours, to be completed over the course of the Fall/Winter, Sep 6 – Feb 22, 2019-20. Salary will be $20/hour.
