Podcasting can be a highly effective format for academic knowledge mobilization – one that is increasingly recognized as a valuable form of “publicly oriented scholarship“. In 2020, the KMDI began experimenting with its own in-house podcast production, through the launch of the Critical Technology podcast as a virtual iteration of the KMDI Speaker Series. This year, we’ve expanded our production activities to include a new, student-led (Arian Petterson) series, Inclusive Gaming 102, and now have capacity for (at least) one more. Watch this space for an upcoming Call for Applications for additional academic podcast “pitches” later this year, open to all members (faculty, students, postdocs, researchers, staff, alum, etc.) of the KMDI community.
